Banned Books and a Surprise Party

So a couple of days ago, I stopped by the library and picked up the books from my list (see previous post + a few others from a different list) that were available:

Candide
The Bluest Eye
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings
Lolita

I also checked out some good old Douglas Adams. In fact I finished Life, the Universe, and Everything before I started Lolita.

And I came upon the Spring Awakening soundtrack and I have to say, it. is. amazing.

I've found my new obsession.
.....

So everyone knows how hard it is to keep a secret right?

Well take that difficulty level and multiply it by 100 to understand how [almost]impossible it was for my friends and I to keep one of my best pal's surprise party a... well, a surprise.

Luckily, somehow we all managed to keep our mouths shut and it worked out just splendidly.

Here was how it went down:

I told my friend Taylor that we should go see Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist and I offered to pick her up and take her to the theatre. However, after she got in the car, I told her that my dad wanted us to pick up some Hunan Garden. (one of the best pseudo-Chinese restaurants in like the world.) She didn't know however, that I had gotten about 15 of our friends to come to the back room to surprise her when we walked in.

Who's a great friend? (me.) :)

So what's [almost] better than House Chow Mein?

New times with old friends.
