Sorry I haven't on lately, it's been a busy week!
For those of you who tried to help me on what color I should paint my nails for the capitol trip on Friday, I decided to go white. Why? Because I found out that one of my good friends already had purple nails. Don't worry though, I'm liking mine.
So the capitol trip went pretty well. It was basically a chance for the people of Rochester to go lobby. I was really lucky and was able to speak to two representatives to try and convince them to up our student funding.
The whole thing started off with a really formal, tasty lunch.
Note the wondrous looking lemon cake in the background. They even had like four different forks! Luckily, since this was my third year in this event, I knew that I had to go outside in... wait, right?
Afterwards, Governor Tim Pawlenty, came in and talked to us. I don't remember much of what he said, I was too busy trying to get a good photo of him. I did not succeed.
Following the lunch, I had my two appointments with the Representatives and then I had 3 hours of downtime to just wander around our beautiful capitol building.
Then came the best part of the night: the reception. Basically a huge hall of free food and exhibitors (otherwise known as tables giving out free crap with their names on it and candy).
My friend and I were a bit excited by these pretty Raspberry Tiramisus. You can also see my white nail polish.

So there was my capitol trip 2009.
