Toronto

I am falling in love with this city.

When I first heard that for our family vacation this summer we were driving to Toronto, Canada I wasn't extremely excited. After all, last year we had flown to California and before that, sunny Florida. I wasn't sure I was prepared for two days worth of driving to a place that had the same temperature as the state I was currently inhabiting (Minnesota).

That all changed the minute we rolled into the city.

I could feel the energy just rising from the pavements, from the pedestrians with their fashionable clothes, from the street performers crooning to the crowds that had formed around them, and from the exotic smells emmanating from restaurants. I can't help but look up at the architecturally beautiful apartment buildings and wonder if one day, I could live in them.

As of right now, I'm sitting in the hotel lobby of the beautiful Delta Chelsea listening to a jazz band, I never want to leave.

I forgot to bring my camera cord down with me, I'll post some photos up as soon as I get the chance.

To My True Love

Dear Amazingly Cute Boy I Always See at the RAC (Rochester Athletic Club),

Hi. You may have noticed me drooling on the treadmills as I watch you play basketball.

Sorry, that may not have been the best way to start off a letter.

Hello. My name is Eura, and I am madly in love with you.

Scratch that.

You're beautiful.

No really. Your cheekbones look like they've been carved out of pure marble by God himself (and I'm not even sure I truly believe in a higher power). Have you considered ever being a model? Then I could cut out your advertisements from magazines and paste them on my wall next to my Beatles poster.

It's weird because it seems as if I see you everytime I go to workout. Whether I'm there at 7:30, 8:15, 9:00, or even 10:00, I catch a glimpse of those shimmery green basketball shorts you always wear.

I've even mustered the courage to go on the courts myself and attempted to shoot a few baskets in an effort to be a few feet closer to you.

I think I may have just embarrassed myself.

But haven't you noticed the State/Section/Big 9 swimming t-shirts I wear now in hopes that I will seem just as athletic as you?

I added you on Facebook. From this I have acquired the knowledge that you attend the other high school in Rochester, and that you are graduating this year. My heart threatens to burst at the thought that you will no longer be living in the same town as I soon.

Oh, and we play the same instrument: the cello. I saw you at the big orchestra concert... in fact, you sat in the stand behind me. I hope you didn't notice me practically hyperventilate when I realized that I was so close to you.

And it wasn't an accident when I "dropped" my bow behind my chair.

Okay, so that's the end of this letter.

My "love" with you, makes me wonder if there's someone I don't know who has the same feelings for me too?
