Update on the "swine" flu:
I just read in the paper today that we're supposed to be calling it "North American Flu" because it originated in Mexico and is now spreading to the United States (just like the 1918 flu pandemic is commonly known as the Spanish Flu because it originated in Spain). More deaths in Mexico, but as of right now, no confirmed cases in Minnesota. Hope everyone is staying healthy! I took this entire epidemic thing as an excuse to buy myself some wonderfully scented sanitizer. Thi is so if I ever die of the flu, I'll at least smell like raspberries and vanilla.
So, has anyone ever seen the movie, The Darjeeling Limited, with Adrian Brody, Owen Wilson, and Jason Schwartzman? If you haven't, please do! I've decided that the entire film is like a wonderful garden salad. The beautiful backdrop of India is like the lettuce along with the colorful vegetables dispersed throughout. The three brothers (the main characters of the film) are like the croutons, essential parts of the salad (at least to me) but sort of out of place (I mean, who ever decided to stick hardened bread into a bed of greens?). The dressing, which I believe would be the light Caesar vinagrette kind, is the underlying story and inner difficulties that the three have inside. Altogether a very filling and satisfying movie. I definitely recommend it!
Jack (Jason Schwartzman), Francis (Owen Wilson) , and Peter (Adrian Brody)
I'm hoping to rent The Motorcycle Diaries this weekend. It looks like another good film placed in a gorgeous backdrop. Any other movies I should see?
I was reading through some of my older posts on this blog and I realized that at first glance, it looks pretty boring. I'm sure if you looked close enough, you might find some writing that interests you, but the first impression certaintly is not very exciting. This is why I have decided to add more photos to my entries! I have three for you that don't really have anything in common, but still are quite eye catching.
A YELLOW FIRETRUCK! I've decided that when I am older, I will buy a yellow firetruck, gut the inside, and refurbish it so that I can live in it. Sort of like the van in Little Miss Sunshine only like 10x bigger and sans the incessant honking. However, I don't think the gas (or diesel) mileage will be so great.
Behold! My favorite sandwich in the world! Dill pickles, alfalfa sprouts, mustard, salami, bacon, and turkey on toasted bread. Dee-licious, any ideas for names?
This photo was taken from a book found in my school library. Something about the history of Batman. I just think it's funny when you compare the photo above to the Dark Knight of today:

(Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes!)
